Demsky『Tell Me About The World』

カナダ人ミュージシャンDemskyと、日本人画家の関口あずさがコラボレーションしたレコード『Tell Me About The World』は、一つのものから広い解釈を得られることがメインテーマのアルバムです。 私はDemskyの「人々（日本人）は、各アルバムごとに存在する50ページもの情報を知る必要がある。しかし、それを謎のままにしておくことも重要だ。」という言葉に共通点を感じました。日本画をバックグラウンドにもつ私は、伝統的な絵具を用いて描く時に、膨大なプロセスを踏まなければいけないことと似ている気がしました。 そのことから私はDemskyが作り上げた音を、あえて時間をかけて絵画化することに挑みました。多用している銀箔は、酸素と結びついて変色することが時間の経過を意味し、『このよ（この世）』の表現につながっています。 このよに存在する二面性はジャケットおもて面の白、裏面の黒で表しました。

Canadian musician Demsky and Japanese painter Azusa Sekiguchi collaborated on the artwork for his album "Tell Me About The World''. It was made with the intention of open interpretation. The cover was inspired from the songs on the EP.
Azusa could relate with Demsky's opinion "I know Japanese people need to know 50 pages worth of information for every album, but leaving it a mystery is important too" . She experienced the same thing with traditional Japanese art, which has many processes. She decided that it was key to collaborate, because creation needs time to be achieved, and to creating meaning. However, some audiences want to make their own interpretation on them, and could care less about the process.
After coming up with her concept, Azusa started using Japanese painting materials in Demsky's work. Oxidation silver foil is the ideal element to express "The World", it is the metaphor of time passing. Using black and white shows the passing of time where hidden Japanese context lures with the intentions of hoping to enjoy the world.
